What is a PX to Inches Converter?
A PX to Inches Converter calculates the physical size in inches for a given pixel value at a specified DPI. The same pixel value produces a different inch measurement at different DPIs because DPI controls how tightly pixels are packed into each physical inch.
The Spexo PX to Inches Converter returns a 4-decimal inch result instantly. Copy it to your clipboard or download a text report. No data is sent to any server.

PX to inches formula
The formula divides the pixel count by the DPI value.
inches = px ÷ DPI
At 96 DPI, 96 pixels equals exactly 1.0000 inch. At 300 DPI, 96 pixels equals 0.3200 inch because the pixels are packed more densely. For the W3C CSS specification that defines how pixels map to physical units, the reference anchor is the 96 DPI CSS pixel standard.
Why DPI matters
DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. The value describes how many pixels fit inside one physical inch of a screen or print output. At 96 DPI, 96 pixels span exactly one inch. At 300 DPI, you need 300 pixels to span one inch.
Common DPI values by context:
| DPI | Context |
|---|---|
| 72 DPI | Legacy web standard and older Mac screen displays |
| 96 DPI | Standard web and Windows screen resolution |
| 150 DPI | Medium print quality and some digital displays |
| 192 DPI | Retina class screen displays at 2× standard density |
| 300 DPI | Professional print and offset press standard |
| 326–460 DPI | Modern smartphone screens (iPhone SE to iPhone 15) |

Where to use the PX to Inches Converter
Use the converter when a digital pixel measurement needs to match a physical inch dimension for screen, print or ad platform output.
US print and press preparation
Convert pixel dimensions to inches for print files and physical layout specifications. US print standards use inches for all dimensions. Letter paper is 8.5 × 11 inches and legal paper is 8.5 × 14 inches. Use the PX to CM converter if your printer or vendor uses metric measurements instead.
Ad platform creative specifications
Major ad platforms publish creative size guides in pixels. Converting to inches helps when a brief or review process uses physical dimensions, particularly for out-of-home and print ads alongside digital placements.
Image and banner sizing
Calculate the physical inch size of banners and promotional graphics when you know the pixel dimensions and the display or export DPI.
Print-on-demand and packaging
Print-on-demand platforms such as Printful and Printify use inches for product dimensions. Convert your design file dimensions from pixels to inches before uploading to confirm the print area matches the product specification.
Design handoff and project briefs
Include inch measurements in design briefs and spec documents shared with print vendors and content teams. Browse the Elementor template kits when the project also involves building a WordPress page around those dimensions.
Manual calculation vs using this converter
Dividing pixels by DPI manually is straightforward for a single value. Across multiple assets with different DPI settings the process slows down and errors accumulate.
The converter applies the formula instantly and returns a 4-decimal result. Copy or download for project notes or client handoffs without reformatting.
Use PX to Inches values with Spexo Addons for Elementor
Inch measurements from this converter support accurate image planning when you build pages with Elementor and Spexo Addons.
Banner and hero image planning
Use inch values when specifying hero image dimensions and banner widths for layouts that reference physical display measurements or print companion pieces.
WooCommerce product visuals
Convert product image pixel dimensions to inches for accurate US market listing descriptions and packaging specifications.
Design system documentation
Record pixel and inch values together in your design system or Elementor global settings documentation. Teams working across both screen and print media need both units in the same reference.
