Controlling Popup Display Frequency in Spexo Builder
This guide explains how to control popup frequency in Elementor Popup Builder using the Show Again Delay setting. You can decide how often a popup appears after a visitor closes it.
This helps you avoid showing the same popup repeatedly. It improves user experience and keeps your site less intrusive.
What is Show Again Delay #
Show Again Delay controls how long the popup stays hidden after a user closes it. The popup will not appear again until the selected delay time has passed.
This setting ensures that users are not interrupted too frequently while browsing your website.
Important: The popup will only reappear on a new page load after the delay period has passed. It does not reappear on the same page.
How to Configure Popup Frequency #
- Edit your popup template in Elementor
- Open Popup Settings
- Locate the Show Again Delay option
- Select the delay duration
- Update or publish the popup
Available Delay Options #
You can choose different delay durations based on how often you want the popup to appear.
- No Delay (0) – Popup appears on every page load
- 1 Minute – Popup appears again after 1 minute
- 3 Minutes – Popup appears again after 3 minutes
- 5 Minutes – Popup appears again after 5 minutes
Delay options beyond 5 minutes are available only in Spexo Addons Pro. To unlock all advanced delay options, please install and activate the Pro plugin.
How Show Again Delay Works #
- When a visitor closes the popup, the system stores the current time
- On the next page load, the system checks the stored time
- If the delay has not passed, the popup will not appear
- If the delay has passed, the popup will appear again
Practical Example #
Assume the delay is set to 1 minute.
- Visitor closes popup at 2:00 PM
- Visitor opens another page at 2:00:30 PM → Popup does not appear
- Visitor opens another page at 2:01:30 PM → Popup appears
When to Use Each Delay Option #
- No Delay – Use for critical alerts or system notices
- 1 Minute – Use for important offers
- 3 to 5 Minutes – Use for marketing popups
